The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4, which is expected to be officially released on August 10, was unveiled on Geekbench last month, equipped with Snapdragon 8+ SoC, Android 12, and 8GB RAM. Now, the Galaxy Z Fold4, which will be released with the Flip4, has also appeared on Geekbench, with key configurations confirmed.

Geekbench information shows that the model number of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is SM-F936U, which is the US version. The machine runs the Android 12 system, equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ chip and 12GB of memory, which may be the only memory version of the machine because the Galaxy Fold3 also only has a 12GB memory version, Samsung should not currently launch a 16GB memory model.

It is reported that the Fold4 will also be lighter than the Fold3, but equipped with the same 4,400mAh battery as the Fold3. Rumors also claim that the foldable screen of the Samsung Galaxy Fold4 has a less pronounced crease.

Samsung Introduces Major Camera Upgrade with Galaxy S24 Ultra

Published

Samsung is making a big change to the zoom camera on its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The new phone will have a single telephoto camera that can zoom from 3x to 10x optically. This is a significant improvement over the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which had two telephoto cameras with 3x and 10x zoom. The new camera is also rumored to use a periscope lens, which is a type of lens that allows for greater zoom magnification. Periscope lenses are typically found in much larger cameras, so it’s exciting to see Samsung using one in a smartphone. (report from galaxy club)

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a single telephoto camera with a 5x optical zoom.

Here are some of the benefits of having a 5x optical zoom camera:

  • You can take better pictures of faraway objects.
  • You can zoom in on details without losing quality.
  • You can take more creative photos and videos.

Samsung has been using a set of two 10MP telephoto cameras (3x and 10x) for the past three years on its Galaxy S Ultra flagships. However, it looks like the company is making a change for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The new phone is rumored to have a single 10MP telephoto camera with a 5x optical zoom.

There are a few reasons why Samsung might be making this change. First, it could be a way to simplify the camera system. Having two telephoto cameras can be confusing for some users, and it can also add to the overall cost of the phone. Second, a single telephoto camera with a longer zoom range could offer better image quality. This is because the camera would not have to switch between two different lenses, which can sometimes cause image degradation.

It’s also worth noting that Samsung has been rumored to be working on a continuous zoom lens for its future phones. This type of lens would allow users to zoom in and out smoothly, without any noticeable gaps in image quality. However, it’s unclear if this technology will be ready for the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Overall, the change to a single 10MP telephoto camera with a 5x optical zoom is a significant one. It remains to be seen how this will affect the overall camera performance of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, it’s clear that Samsung is committed to improving the camera system on its flagship phones.

No further details about the resolution of the telephoto cameras on the Galaxy S24 Ultra have been revealed yet. However, it’s likely that Samsung will stick to the same resolution as the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which has 10MP telephoto cameras with 3x and 10x optical zoom.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to be launched in early 2024, so we expect to see more information about its cameras by the end of this year. In the meantime, we can speculate about what features Samsung might include.

Here are some of the things we might see in the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s cameras:

  • A new periscope lens that allows for longer zoom distances
  • Improved image quality in low light
  • New zoom modes, such as a hybrid zoom mode that combines optical and digital zoom
  • A new portrait mode that uses AI to create more realistic portraits

It’s also possible that Samsung will introduce new camera features that we haven’t even thought of yet. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to be a major upgrade over the Galaxy S23 Ultra, so it’s sure to have some impressive camera features.

In addition to the camera, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is also expected to have some other major upgrades, including a new design, a faster processor, and more RAM and storage. It’s shaping up to be a very exciting phone, and we can’t wait to see it in person.

Fire-Boltt overtakes Samsung to become world’s second largest smartwatch brand

Samsung smartwatches saw a 15% increase in shipments in North America in Q1, but faced a decline of 15% year-on-year and 21% quarter-on-quarter in other markets. Despite their success in North America, Samsung lost its 2nd place globally to Indian brand Fire-Boltt. Fire-Boltt achieved a 9% shipment share in Q1, narrowly surpassing Samsung, which also had a 9% share. Apple, on the other hand, experienced a drop in global smartwatch shipment share from 32% in Q1 2022 to 26% in Q1 2023, but remained the leader in the smartwatch market.

Huawei’s smartwatch shipments in China declined by 15% in Q1 2023. Despite increased shipments in regions like LATAM, MEA, and India, Huawei lost 9% of its global shipment share. Unfortunately, these efforts were not enough to prevent Huawei from losing its position on the global smartwatch leaderboard.

India’s smartwatch market grew due to affordable options

Fire-Boltt’s victory over Samsung in the global smartwatch market can be attributed to the growth of the smartwatch market in India. While the markets in China, North America, and the rest of the world experienced a decline in smartwatch shipments in Q1 2023, India saw a significant increase from 12% in Q1 2022 to 27% in Q1 2023. Fire-Boltt, being a local brand, emerged as the dominant player in the Indian market.

Fire-Boltt’s success can be attributed to its offering of more affordable smartwatches. Analysts have noted that India’s wearable market experienced a remarkable 121% year-on-year growth, driven by factors such as lower prices, increased customer demand, and the availability of smartwatches covering a wider price range compared to other markets.

The market analysis considers two types of smartwatches: HLOS (High-Level Operating System) smartwatches like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Apple Watch, as well as basic smartwatches with a lighter OS version that don’t support third-party apps. Basic smartwatches are cheaper and gaining popularity faster, particularly in markets like India. They are increasingly seen as viable alternatives to smart bands, contributing to their growing demand.

Samsung is not regular for Galaxy Watch software updates

Published

Galaxy Watch 4

The popularity of Samsung’s smartwatch has increased since the company left the Tizen OS operating system and tied up with Google’s Wear OS system. Samsung’s first Wear OS smartwatch was the Galaxy Watch 4 which was very popular in the market. But somewhere Samsung is not regular to roll out the new software updates for the Galaxy Watches as compared to the Galaxy smartphones.

As we know, the software section of Samsung is very big and great, the company has rolled out new features, fixes, improvements and much more with the OTA for older Galaxy devices. But what about the Galaxy Smartwatches? I am not targeting only the Galaxy Watch 4 series, the company has also lacked to send the new software update for the Galaxy Watch 5 series, which is the new generation wearable device of the company.

As we have seen, Samsung has rollout software updates every month for most of the Galaxy smartphones, in which the users have received new features, device stability improvements, monthly security patches and much more. On the other hand, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 are not able to get the monthly patches.

However, they said that the Galaxy smartwatches do not require monthly patch updates. That is why there is no schedule by the company to roll out the firmware update for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 every month. On the other hand, the company has only pushed the Wear OS update for the Galaxy Watches which is a major update for users which brings the new features, fixes known issue bugs and turned with the new Wear OS version.
