Great news for Huawei P30 and Mate 20 series users! Huawei has just revealed that they can now upgrade their 5-year-old flagship phones to HarmonyOS 4. This update will bring fresh features and performance enhancements, giving these devices a new lease on life.

Huawei P30 and Mate 20 users have been clamoring for the HarmonyOS 4 upgrade, but it was unclear if it would be available for their devices. The initial HarmonyOS 4 roadmap didn’t mention these phones, but Huawei has now announced that they will be eligible for the upgrade.

Huawei P30 and Mate 20 series phones are the latest Huawei phones to have Google Mobile Services (GMS). They are also the most popular Huawei phones in the market until the Mate 60 series. The P30 series was launched in 2019 with EMUI 9.1, while the Mate 20 series was launched in 2018 with EMUI 9.0. After upgrading to EMUI 11, Huawei transitioned these phones to HarmonyOS 2 and later to HarmonyOS 3 in China.

Huawei P30 and Mate 20 users around the world are currently on EMUI 12, and there’s no official word on when EMUI 13 will arrive for them. However, the big surprise is that Huawei has announced they’ll get HarmonyOS 4 in the first quarter of 2024. This is unusual because it’s not common for a company to update five-year-old devices with new software.

The HarmonyOS 4 update will bring new features and a better user experience to these old smartphones. It is a testament to Huawei’s commitment to supporting its devices for a long time.

HarmonyOS PC

Huawei’s HarmonyOS PC is their first software just for computers, and it boots faster and runs more clearly than Windows and macOS.You will get going faster, and it will work more fluidly than Windows and macOS.

It is how long your phone, tablet, or laptop takes to start up and get ready to use after you press the power button or restart it.Boot time or boot speed tells you how long it takes for your phone, tablet, or computer to switch on and load everything. It is  simply how long it takes for your phone, tablet, or laptop to go from being off to being fully on and ready.

This HarmonyOS PC starts up in no time, even faster than you can blink! You can get straight to what you need to do. Windows and macOS take way longer.

One of the best things about Windows PCs is how fastly they start up. This makes using them better, helps you get more done, and might even save battery. It’s faster than ever to open your device and apps.

Everything feels more fluid and less jerky on HarmonyOS PC than on Windows.

It shows how easily a tablet, PC, or phone performs tasks, transformation between apps, and responds to user inputs. HarmonyOS PC has acquired good grades in both smoothness and boot time in the first HarmonyOS-dedicated PC.

HarmonyOS PC does not  have C and D drives. It only uses the computer’s own storage and online storage, which makes it simpler and faster.

This HarmonyOS PC helps itself run smoothly by impulsively cleaning up junk and making things better. You do not  need to download anything to speed up HarmonyOS PC. It handles files like an Android tablet, making it easy to find what you are  looking for.

HarmonyOS PC uses a special system for storing files called EROFS. It makes the computer read things super fast (3 times faster!) and also saves about 1.6 GB of space compared to the usual way.

A tester got Windows 11 working on a HarmonyOS computer.

Good news! A Huawei HarmonyOS PC was tested and can run Windows 11 without issues. It looks like you could even switch between the two.

This suggests you could pick either operating system when using the device.

Huawei is now using its own HarmonyOS for its PCs because they can’t use Windows anymore. Many people are think about if the new MateBook Pro will still work with Windows in some way or if it will only use HarmonyOS.

A tester discovered that you can use Windows 11 on a Huawei HarmonyOS PC with the help of other software. The blogger first installed the OS-easy virtual system on the device and selected an image file to complete the virtual software system arrangement on the notebook.

OS-Easy is a program that lets HarmonyOS PCs act like they have another computer inside. This way, you can run different operating systems, not just HarmonyOS.

OS-easy virtual operating system:

There are two easy ways to put a new operating system on your device using OS-Easy: you can download Windows directly from Microsoft online, or you can transfer Windows files from a USB stick.

After you have installed it, you can enjoy the Windows operating system on your PC. It is  simple to switch between the two systems, and you can even use apps like Microsoft Edge.

Many people thought the tester’s method for using Windows 11 on the new PC worked really well.

They said this method could solve the problem of missing software on HarmonyOS. Plus, it might even boost some of its features, like how it connects to other devices, its security, and how fast it is.

HarmonyOS PC is supposed to be smoother and safer than Windows, but some long-time Windows users will still prefer Windows. This new OS-Easy way seems to be a good option for them.
