The new Huawei Watch 5 might use a chip called Kirin W80.

“Huawei is launching its new Watch 5 in China alongside its Pura 80 series phones. This new smartwatch might have a brand new internal chip called the Kirin W80. This means Huawei is bringing a better, more powerful chip to its smartwatches, similar to how they’ve upgraded the chips in their HarmonyOS computers.
New information from Weibo suggests the Huawei Watch 5 is getting a fresh brain, the Kirin W80 chip. This watch, known by its model SOC-AL00, has also been cleared to use the latest OpenHarmony 5.1.0.106 system.
The official information reveals the Huawei Kirin W80 is the processor inside the Watch 5. Its arm64-v8a design means it’s built with 64-bit technology, allowing for quicker operations and improved handling of its internal memory.

Huawei Watch 5 with kirin chips and 5G support
Kirin W80 is a quad-core processor with a frequency ranging from 0.3 to 1.7GHz. On the other hand, it has a GPU frequency of 492MHz and HarmonyOS 5.1.
It seems the “W” in Kirin W80 probably means it’s a chip specifically for wearable devices like smartwatches. Some people online are guessing that because it’s an “80” series chip, it won’t be as strong as the “Kirin 9 series” chips that Huawei uses in its more powerful gadgets.
Based on how Huawei named its past smartwatch chips (like the Kirin A1), some internet users believe this new processor for wearables might be called Kirin A3 or T1 in the future.
We can not really know how well the new Kirin W80 chip performs just yet. We will need to wait until the Huawei Watch 5 is released in China to get the real details.

Next Huawei Pura X to Feature Advanced Display

A trusted leaker on Weibo (a Chinese social media platform) has hinted that the upcoming Huawei Pura X phone might come with a super impressive new screen. Huawei already surprised people with its foldable phone this year, but it seems their next model will be even more amazing.
According to DigitalChatStation, Huawei is planning to release the upcoming Pura X with an innovative display. While the exact technology isn’t clear, speculation points to it being a dual-layer OLED, a popular display solution right now.
Huawei introduced their special dual-layer OLED screen technology with the MatePad Pro 12.2 tablet. They’ve continued to use this advanced display, putting it in the Mate 70 RS Ultimate, and there’s a good chance it will appear in the high-end Pura 80 smartphones too
The dual-layer OLED solution, initially introduced with the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2, has since been adopted for the Mate 70 RS Ultimate. There’s also a strong possibility it will be featured in the premium Pura 80 smartphone models.
people online asked why Huawei is not making rollable phones. The leaker said these screens are hard to make and break easily, so Huawei probably won’t do it.
Besides the Pura X news, the leaker noted that Huawei’s share of the foldable phone market is staying strong. Huawei has released some amazing foldable phones that have quickly caught a lot of people’s attention.
New Foldables coming this year:
The leak added that the company is now preparing some more foldable handsets for this year. The first will likely be the Mate XT tri-fold with top-notch upgrades. As per early inputs, the next generation triple foldable smartphone could bring a new Kirin 5G chip and impressive camera upgrades over its predecessor.
Looking at it differently, the Huawei Mate X7 could bring big improvements compared to the model before it. The specific upgrades aren’t clear yet, but they might involve how fast it runs, how it is built, and what it can do with AI.

Huawei Pura X
The Pura X has a foldable, bendable screen inside with a clear picture (2120 x 1320 pixels) and it’s super responsive to touch (300Hz). On the outside, it has a regular screen that’s also very clear (980 x 980 pixels) and pretty fast to touch (240Hz).

Get ready! Huawei just teased the incredible main camera and video innovations coming to the Pura 80 series. These new flagship phones are launching on June 11th, and Huawei is building excitement by hinting at their special features.
This 39-second video shows off how good the Huawei Pura 80‘s main camera is. It can capture thousands of colors, no matter if they’re super bright or really dark. You just click, and you’ll get a perfect picture.
Someone who shares tech secrets (a ‘tipster’) had already said the Pura 80 phones would have amazing video features. Now, this new preview video pretty much proves that they were right.
Watching the video, it looks like the Pura 80’s main camera can record ‘vivid’ videos. That means the videos will have really clear and detailed visuals because the colors, brightness, and sharpness are all made to look their best.
A ‘vivid’ video mode makes colors pop more, making everything in the video look brighter and more lively than if you recorded it normally.
When you are filming and move from a bright spot to a dark one, the video actually looks better and more vibrant, almost like a special night mode kicked in. The dark areas become super clear, with all the details showing, and the picture quality stays sharp without any blur.
The Pura 80 phones can also take amazing pictures that have both very bright and very dark parts in the same scene. You’ll get super clear, clean, and colorful photos with all the tiny details, no matter how bright or dark the scene is.
