Huawei Pura 80

Huawei Pura 80 phones are launching next month, and the main camera (still 50MP) is getting a major upgrade. This change could really quake things up and make a big difference in photo quality.

Huawei’s top phones have used camera parts from companies like OmniVision and Sony. But now, it looks like Huawei is planning to use different suppliers for their cameras.

According to ‘DigitalChatStation,’ the Huawei Pura 80 Pro is getting a new 50MP main camera. It’s from SmartSens, and the phone could use their latest camera, the SC5A0CS, which is a high-quality 1-inch lens made right in China.

Too soon , the same source said that Huawei might use the Sony IMX989 camera in the upcoming Pro model. But now, it looks like the company has decided to use a new one-inch sensor from SmartSens instead.

This insider also mentioned that a great many phone companies are starting to partner with SmartSens because they make great camera sensors that handle different light really well. So, Huawei, who’s already using much its own tech, is now aiming for even higher quality parts.

SmartSens is a top company in China that makes special camera sensor chips. They work on creating better camera technology and are always trying to improve how cameras take pictures.

At present, we do not know much about the new camera sensor. It could have bigger pixels or smarter AI features. A new main camera might make photos clearer and night pictures look better with less noise.

Apart from the main camera, the Pura 80 Pro might also have a 12MP zoom camera (the periscope type) with some improvements. Also, it could come with a flat screen that looks better and has new technology to make watching things on it even more enjoyable.

Huawei will launch its top Pura 80 series in June this year. The exact date is still unknown. Nevertheless, the company might share some hints or details coming soon.

HarmonyOS 6.0 Rollout

Huawei has shared news about its upcoming HarmonyOS updates. They have announced when devices will get the HarmonyOS 5.1 upgrade. At the same time, they also gave a hint about the even newer HarmonyOS 6.0, suggesting when users can expect that major update.

At the recent launch of the Pura 80 series phones, Huawei announced its HarmonyOS 5.1 update plan. Richard Yu, who leads

He further shared details about the HarmonyOS 6.0 rollout timeline. As per the executive, the next major upgrade will hit the user ground in Q4 2025.

Richard Yu suggested:

After showcasing the Pura 80, Huawei is now getting ready for HDC 2025, scheduled for June 20-22. There’s strong anticipation that HarmonyOS 6.0 will be unveiled at this event, offering a sneak peek at its features

If it happens, the phone maker may follow last year’s strategy and initiate the HarmonyOS 6.0 closed or public beta rollout in October/November this year.

The Pura 80 series, Mate 70/60, Pura 70, Mate X6, and Mate X5 are likely to be among the first devices to receive the update. Huawei might then officially launch the next major upgrade alongside its new Mate 80 and Mate X7 flagship phones.

From there, the update will continue to spread over the next month, reaching mid-range phones like the Nova series and older models. The rollout should be finished by mid-2026.

This HarmonyOS 6.0 rollout plan seems likely, but Huawei has not officially confirmed all the details yet. They have only hinted that their devices might start getting the 6.0 software update around October or November.

Huawei Pura 80

The new Huawei Pura 80 series is here, featuring four premium models (Pura 80, 80 Pro, 80 Pro+, and 80 Ultra). This release is significant as Huawei gains attention for its chip advancements and a strong comeback in smartphone sales.

Massive Long-Term Investment: Over the last 10 years, Huawei has poured a huge $173 billion (1.249 trillion yuan) into research and development.

Recent Spending: In 2024 alone, their R&D spending hit $25 billion (179.7 billion yuan), which is about 20% of their total income for the year.

Why it Matters: This huge investment in R&D has been crucial for Huawei, helping them overcome challenges like getting the chips needed for new phones, including the Pura 80 series.

The Pura 80 Pro, Pro+, and Ultra come with a round frame and multi-layer camera bump, while the standard version has a flat outlook.

Super bright visuals (up to 3000 nits peak brightness), so everything looks clear even in bright sunlight.

Smooth scrolling with an adaptive refresh rate that goes from 1 to 120Hz, which also helps save battery.

Vibrant and lifelike colors with over a billion shades and a wide color range.

Sharp, detailed images thanks to 460 pixels per inch.

Stunning contrast and brightness for HDR content, making movies and videos pop.

The Pura 80 series features a powerful 50MP main camera with a large 1-inch RYYB sensor. This significantly boosts image processing speed (up to 200% faster) and improves photo quality with better AI noise reduction and color.

The Pura 80 Ultra is the first phone with a dual-lens switchable telephoto camera. This means it has two zoom lenses with mirrors inside, offering 3.7x and 9.4x optical zoom. This new tech greatly extends its optical zoom range, by 129% compared to the Pura 70 Ultra.

Huawei 2nd folded

Huawei’s upcoming 2nd tri-fold phone is already generating excitement, and it might launch in September. The buzz is mainly due to rumored upgrades, especially to its cameras. Let’s look at what’s being speculated.

A leaker on Weibo named @FixedFocus has hinted that Huawei’s second tri-fold phone might come out in September 2025. This news comes as Samsung is also trying to figure out the best time to release its own first triple-folding device.

The upcoming Huawei tri-folding phone is set for major upgrades, spanning durability, performance, and camera features.

Huawei is really stepping up its game with the next tri-fold, bringing big improvements to durability, performance, and cameras.

The upcoming Huawei Mate XT foldable phone is expected to use a new chip called the Kirin 9020 5G. It’s possible Huawei might even use a special, improved version of this chip. While we don’t have all the details, it’s clear the phone will have a new processor.

Huawei’s second tri-fold phone might include a multi-spectral lens for better photo colors. Following the Mate 70, Huawei is adding its “Red Maple Primary color shooter” to more high-end phones.

The multi-spectral camera, first seen in the Mate 70 series, can capture more than just what our eyes can see. It picks up image details from a wider range of light waves, even those beyond visible light. This helps create more realistic and natural photos.

This mechanism permits the lens to gather more color information than an ordinary RGGB or RYYB sensor. As a result, you will get more realistic and natural shots.

This special camera also gathers more color information, which helps the phone make pictures even more accurate and precise. Besides the Mate 70 series, the Nova 14 and Pura X models also use this advanced lens.

Just a heads-up, these details aren’t confirmed yet. Even though there were whispers that Huawei might ditch its new triple-fold phone next year, it looks like they’re actually pushing forward and aim to reveal it in late 2025.
