Leaked live images of the MatePad Mini have revealed a more impressive design than its official teaser, ahead of the tablet’s consumer market debut.

A tipster on Weibo has leaked live images of the Huawei MatePad Mini before its release. The photos reveal the tablet’s exterior design but not its internal specifications

The live images provide a look at both the MatePad Mini‘s retail box and the device itself. One photo shows a black screen with a small punch-hole camera located in one of the top corners.

This time, Huawei has significantly worked on the bezel area of the device. As per the tipster, the MatePad Mini has an ultra-narrow border and has a full-screen look.

The speakers are integrated at the top this time, making it easier to hear clearer calls. Being a compact model, the MatePad Mini can be held in one hand conveniently.

According to online reports, Huawei is reintroducing calling functionality to the new MatePad Mini. This feature was previously absent from their tablets, with some speculating the move was made to avoid cannibalizing smartphone sales.

Leaked photos reveal the MatePad Mini’s rear design, which features a chalk-white color and a prominent circular camera module that shares a resemblance to the Mate 70. The tablet also has “HUAWEI” branding at its center.

A stylus-like structure on the top of the MatePad Mini suggests it will support an M-Pencil. Additionally, the home screen UI looks notably clean and organized, with an elegant layout that has been compared by some to Apple’s macOS.
Beyond the leaked images, the tipster also provided some key specifications, including a 6,400mAh battery and a better screen. We’ll have to wait for the official release to confirm these details.

The security rollout also reaches key wearables. The Huawei Watch Ultimate, Watch Ultimate Green, and GT 5 Pro are getting a new HarmonyOS version with stability and security improvements this month.

These updates are being deployed gradually and may not be immediately available on all eligible devices in the global market. We recommend periodically checking the update section on your device to download the latest software version.

In the smartphone arena, Huawei is concentrating on the Mate 80 series in China, with a specific “Air” variant to challenge the iPhone Air and Samsung S25 Edge. For its watches, a new purple color for the Watch Ultimate 2 looks fantastic, but a global release is not yet certain.

Huawei Nova 15

Nova 15 launch alert! Huawei’s plan includes a full-stack camera system for all you  photographers. In accordance with  a new leak, the Huawei Nova 15 series will feature a consistent 50MP RYYB super-sensing camera across all models, guaranteeing a uniform, high-end photographic experience for every user.

A further upgrade is the inclusion of variable aperture, which improves low-light performance and bokeh effects by physically changing the lens opening. This represents a potential departure from past strategy, as this advanced feature was only found on Pro and Ultra models before, leaving the standard model with a fixed aperture—a limitation the Nova 15 may overcome.

The Nova 15 series will also see an upgrade to its Red Maple primary color imaging technology. A notable enhancement for the Pro and Ultra models is a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a significant increase from the 8MP sensor used in previous models. Furthermore, these two higher-end phones will continue to feature the 12MP RYYB telephoto lens for zoom photography.
