Good news for battery life! A leak says Huawei’s upcoming mid-range phone will pack a much larger battery, a trend we first saw in the Pura 80 phones.A leak reveals the company has a fresh device with a big cell boost.

Huawei’s got a new mid-range phone coming soon, and it’s packing a huge battery! Leaks suggest it will be somewhere between 6480mAh and 6600mAh, so you can expect it to last a long time on a single charge.

The tipster also suggested that the new battery will use more silicon content to boost the overall device’s energy. This change also helps in increasing the battery life without giving up on the smartphone’s size.

Even though we don’t know the exact name of this new Huawei phone, some people online are guessing it might be a Nova phone. It could be the Nova Flip 2 (a foldable phone) or perhaps a device from the Nova 15 series.

Huawei is in rumors to launch two Nova smartphone lineups this year. It has already introduced the Nova 14 series in the market with overwhelming features.

Consumers are now keenly watching for the new Nova phones. Many believe the Nova 15 series will arrive later this year, featuring exciting new camera capabilities and a clean, simple design.

Nova Flip 2 is also in the making with better upgrades in terms of the cover display, appearance, and internal parameters. Hence, the company has two smartphone options for a big battery boost: the Nova 15 series or the Nova Flip 2.

A new leak says Huawei’s upcoming mid-range phone will have amazing fast charging: 100W if you plug it in, and 80W wirelessly. Many folks are pointing out that a 6000mAh battery with this speed will charge faster than a lot of high-end Android phones.

It’s not clear yet which specific upcoming Huawei phone will get the benefit of an even bigger battery. However, it seems like Huawei is really focusing on making the batteries in all their new devices much better.

Mate 40 Pro Won’t Get HarmonyOS 5, Leak Suggests

Mate 40 Pro

A leak showing the Huawei Mate 40 Pro running HarmonyOS 5.0 has surfaced online. However, the authenticity of these images is unconfirmed, leaving it unclear if this is a genuine update or an elaborate hoax.

SuperDimensional on Weibo revealed that the rumors of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro upgrading to HarmonyOS 5 are fake. He called the images false, photoshopped GIFs.

The tipster clarified that the source of these rumors is not a developer, but a Huawei store employee. Additionally, the ‘Huawei’ branding is missing from the model name in the leaked image, further casting doubt on its authenticity.

The leak also shows an ‘R5’ pre-installed software package. Since this type of build is only used in special internal circumstances, its appearance here is highly suspicious.

In accordance with  the tipster, the pre-installed software packages in all Mate 40 Pro models start with R6 and can go up to R11, but not below this figure. A few things vary based on the software version. Since these changes don’t match the image, it is fake.

This leak sparked further speculation, with some users conflating it with news of HarmonyOS NEXT. It’s crucial to distinguish the unverified leak from Huawei’s official statement, which confirmed the company is considering a new OS version for its older flagships, but did not name a specific model or version.

Nevertheless, none of these details have been officially confirmed by Huawei. While the company has opened the door for discussion, an official announcement is still pending and will likely take time.

For the best chance at receiving the HarmonyOS 5.0 update, ensure your device’s software is current. Huawei is rolling out this version to more devices ahead of the HarmonyOS 6.0 release, which could include older models soon.
