Samsung: Record revenue for Q1 thanks to sales of the Galaxy S22
The financial results for the first quarter of 2022 were announced by Samsung, noting that it achieved a record of consolidated revenues for the third consecutive quarter.
Operating profit was KRW 14.12 billion and improved by 51% over the previous year. In fact, the Device Experience (DX) division had the highest revenue since 2013.
The detailed financial report states that all departments reported an annual increase in both sales and operating profits. Specifically for mobile phones, Samsung revealed that the high revenue is mainly due to sales of the Galaxy S22 Ultra . He also noted that it is a result of the “positive responses to new 5G mass-market models” and the “stable sales of Device Ecosystem products” that include tablets, smartwatches,es, and audio wearables.
In terms of Samsung Display, its revenue is due to strong sales to major smartphone manufacturers and large QD panel monitors.
Looking ahead to the results of the second quarter and its design, Samsung will prioritize strengthening its position in the premium category for smartphones and expanding its SoC chip makers.
