Google’s Pixel 7 Pro’s display uses more battery than other Android phones

Google Pixel 7 series

Google has recently launched its new Pixel series phone Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro. Since the launch of Google’s new Pixel 7 Pro mobile phone, some problems have been detected in the phone.

The display of Google Pixel 7 Pro is using more battery than other Android devices. From this, we can say that the display is a bit power-draining.

A smartphone’s display is often one of the most power-hungry components, and manufacturers have been working hard for years to optimize the panel to make it as efficient as possible. In the Pixel 7 Pro, it seems that the display is using an exceptionally high amount of power. Media XDA has reported the issue saying that the phone’s display will consume a lot of power when used at high brightness.

The Google Pixel 7 Pro has higher screen power consumption than the Google Pixel 6 Pro, which consumes about 2.9W at 600 nits brightness and 4W at 800 nits. That’s significantly more than Samsung’s latest flagships, with the Galaxy S22 Plus screen consuming just 2 W at 600 nits and 4 W at 1,000 nits.

Such problems cannot be fixed through updates but it remains to be seen how Google handles such problems. XDA reports that the TDP (Thermal Design Power, Maximum Power Consumption) of the Pixel 7 Pro’s Tensor G2 chip is around 10-12W, which means that, in theory, when the phone is under maximum load, Only the power consumption chip and the display will be reduced. Can reach 18W.

Google Pixel Mini

Google is currently working to release its new family of devices, which includes the Pixel line. According to the most recent report, Google is currently developing its Mini variant, which may be known as the Pixel Mini. The upcoming Google device may have a similar design to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series.

According to the well-known Weibo blogger Digital Chat Station, the upcoming Google device will have a smaller screen than the Google Pixel 6, and Pixel 7. In addition, the blogger revealed that the device will come with the code name “neila.” However, the company has not issued an official statement on the subject.

Furthermore, the blogger revealed that the device will have a center hole punch for the selfie camera, similar to the Pixel 6 and the upcoming Pixel 7. Apart from this, Digital Chat Station did not provide any additional information, but some responses to the publication suggested that the Pixel “neila” could be the future Pixel 7a, while others suggested it could be a fourth option in the Search Giant’s portfolio.

In addition to “neila,” there is a fifth long-awaited smartphone, the Pixel with a folding screen. There are currently no leaks about the Pixel folding device, but a previous report stated that the device will have five cameras, the main one of which is 50MP. In any case, the focus, for the time being, is on the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, the details of which will be released on October 6th.

Apple initially arranged the Mini variant’s story as follows:

When discussing Mini in any device, Apple comes to mind first because it introduced the Mini version. After the iPhone 12 series was introduced, we saw the device with a smaller screen size known as the iPhone 12 Mini. We also saw the device in the iPhone 13 series known as the iPhone 13 Mini. But since the release of the iPhone 14 series this year, Apple has discontinued its Mini model.
