Today, Huawei officially revealed the Pocket 2 Premium Edition foldable phone on its Weibo page. They shared the main features of this new version and also announced when it will be available to buy.

It was previously hinted that the Pocket 2 foldable phone would get a special “Premium” version, and Huawei has now officially confirmed this new model.

The official preview of the Pocket 2 Premium Edition doesn’t show big changes to its look. We’ll likely get the exact details when it goes on sale.

Huawei revealed that the Pocket 2 Premium Edition will go on sale on June 26 at 10:08. Consumers can purchase the device from authorized retail stores or at VMall. The company has also mentioned the price and storage details, which are:

  • Pocket 2 Premium Edition (12GB + 256GB) – 5499 yuan
  • Pocket 2 Premium Edition (12GB + 512GB) – 5999 yuan

The new Pocket 2 Premium Edition costs 2000 yuan less than the regular Pocket 2, which starts at 7499 yuan. You can choose from four colors: Tahitian Grey, Rococo White, Taro Purple, and Elegant Black. More details about its features and technical specs will be shared when it goes on sale.

Before this official announcement, rumors suggested that the Pocket 2 Premium Edition would feature a new chip, possibly the Kirin 9020A. This new chip was thought to be 35% faster than the Kirin 9000s found in the Mate 60 Pro. However, Huawei hasn’t officially confirmed which chip is in the Pocket 2 Premium Edition yet.

Specifications:

The Huawei Pocket 2 is powered by the Kirin 9000s SoC. Its display setup includes a 6.94-inch OLED primary panel (120Hz refresh, 300Hz touch sampling, 1440Hz PWM dimming) and a 1.15-inch OLED secondary display (60Hz refresh, 120Hz touch response).

The Pocket 2 uses HarmonyOS 4.0 and comes in 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB storage. It has four rear cameras: a 50MP main with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide, an 8MP telephoto, and a 2MP hyperspectral camera.

The Pocket 2 features a 10.7MP ultrawide front camera, a 4520mAh battery with 66W charging, and an IPX8 water resistance rating. It also offers unique functions like UV protection testing, two-way Beidou satellite messaging, and customizable pet themes for the folding screen.

Mate X7 Leaked: Camera & Screen Specs Revealed

Published

Huawei Mate X7

Huawei is getting ready to launch its next top-tier foldable phone, the Mate X7. Recent leaks suggest this new model will come with some big improvements, especially in its screen and cameras. It looks like Huawei is focusing on making these features even better for their upcoming dual-folding device.

A tech insider named @DigitalChatStation got to see an early version of Huawei’s upcoming foldable phone, the Mate X7. They are saying that this new phone will have an even better screen and a really powerful camera system.

Huawei’s Mate X7 is getting a slight screen upgrade! It will have a 7.95-inch main display with a crisp 2K resolution, just a hair larger than the 7.93-inch screen of its predecessor.

It seems Huawei is using a special type of screen technology called “COE LTPO” along with “Ultra-Thin Glass” (UTG) for the Mate X7. This combination is expected to make the phone’s display incredibly strong and durable.

COE refers to the color filter on encapsulation technology. When fused with LTPO, it results in brighter visuals, thinner panels, and more power-saving display technologies. It replaces the old polarizer layer with color filters to enhance durability.

UTG (Ultra-Thin-Glass), on the other hand, ensures a flexible and durable folding mechanism. It further brings clarity and tactile feel to the glass for a premium vibe.

Huawei’s Mate X7 will likely get a significant performance boost, thanks to a new-generation chip, probably the Kirin 9030. This new processor is rumored to offer a 20% improvement in speed compared to its predecessor.

Previously, the same tipster gave us some hints about the Mate X7’s camera layout. Now, those details are much clearer.

Huawei is testing two strong 50-megapixel camera sensors for the Mate X7, one slightly larger than the other. Both will likely have a “variable aperture,” which means they can let in more light for brighter photos, especially when it’s dark.

Meanwhile, the OEM may adopt a new 50MP periscope telephoto for macro shots, and an upgraded multi-spectral lens. We may discover new camera features this time.

The tech insider says that the Mate X7 will be super light and have excellent water protection. They believe that, after the previous Mate X6, this new foldable phone will truly be a top-of-the-line device in every way.

Huawei Pura 80 Pro+ Magic: Blowing Out Candles

Published

on

By

Huawei Pura 80 Pro+

Birthdays and blowing out candles go hand-in-hand. Now, Huawei is adding a twist with its Pura 80 Pro+!

They have shown how this phone can surprisingly blow out candles, turning a basic ritual into something more interesting.

Huawei’s Chairman, Richard Yu, recently demonstrated a fun and surprising feature of the Pura 80 Pro+. He showed that by playing music with strong “bass” on the phone, the sound waves are powerful enough to extinguish a candle flame. It’s a unique way the device uses its audio capabilities.

Within a second, the Pura 80 Pro+ blew out the burning candle. While the illustration seemed quite funny, it defines that the top-end handset has a really strong bass.

According to Richard Yu, the huawei pro+ stands out because it has a stronger sound output, specifically in its bass. This higher “amplitude” means the phone’s speakers move more air. It’s these powerful air vibrations that are strong enough to blow out a burning candle.

The Huawei executive explained the Pura 80 Pro+’s powerful bass by using a simple example. Imagine hitting two drums with the same strength, but one drum is bigger than the other. The larger drum will vibrate more, and that’s exactly why it makes a deeper, stronger bass sound. The Pura 80 Pro+ works similarly, using its design to create those strong vibrations.

The Pura 80 Pro+ applies the same principle. It has a special “open sound cavity” design, meaning it uses the entire inside of the device to help produce sound. Because of this smart internal structure, the phone’s overall volume is boosted by 10 times.

The Pura 80 Pro+ makes its sound so powerful partly because its speakers are 10 times larger than those found in typical smartphones (8 cubic centimeters compared to 0.8 cubic centimeters). More space means better sound.

On top of that, the Huawei Pura 80 Pro+ creates sound with 54% more “amplitude” than other phones. This simply means its bass is much stronger and feels more “all-around” or “immersive.” All these changes together are what let the Pura 80 Pro+ actually blow out candles with its speakers.
