Pixel 10 & Watch 4 Release Date: August 20

Google is holding its “Made by Google 2025” event on August 20. They’ll show off the new Pixel 10 phone and Watch 4. These new devices will go up against Samsung’s Galaxy S25 phone and Watch 8.
Google is bringing Made by Google 2025 to New York City, a notable change from the Pixel 9 series launch in Mountain View, and the same place Samsung recently showcased its foldables.
- When it starts: Google’s main event will begin at 10:00 AM in California (PT), which is 1:00 PM in New York (ET).
- For us in India: That means it will be 10:30 PM (IST) on August 20th for you.
- How to watch: You can watch it live online from anywhere! It will also be a live event with people there, similar to how Samsung recently did their big show.
- What to expect: Google will likely show off new and improved things for Android 16 (the next version of the phone software) and Wear OS 6 (the software for smartwatches).
- New Pixels & Watch 4 Incoming: Expect Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, 10 Pro Fold phones, plus the Pixel Watch 4 (with Wear OS 6).
- Google’s 2025 Devices: Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and 10 Pro Fold phones, plus Pixel Watch 4 with Wear OS 6, are likely.
Pixel 10 smartphones may offer significant performance improvements as the Tensor G5 is now made by TSMC. Android 16’s new Material 3 Expressive design may also be an event highlight, impacting all Android devices out there.
If you want a fancy smartphone but don’t want Apple or Samsung, Google Pixel is becoming a great choice, even if they don’t sell a ton of them.

Good news for Galaxy A34 5G and A35 5G users! Samsung is busy preparing the big One UI 8 software update for these two popular mid-range phones. It’s in full development.
Galaxy A35 One UI 8 Update:
Samsung is definitely working on the One UI 8 update for the Galaxy A35. We know this because its early software was listed on Samsung’s update server recently. And to show how far along they are, the phone has already been tested on Geekbench with the new software, achieving scores of 1027 for single-core and 2502 for multi-core performance.

Galaxy A34 One UI 8 Update:
Samsung is also getting the One UI 8 update ready for the Galaxy A34. This phone came out before the A35 and at the same time as the Galaxy A54. We now have the very first version number of this new One UI 8 software for the A34.
What’s new in One UI 8?
- User interface – Samsung’s new update has subtle UI changes and more focus on refining the user interface and appearance.
- Enhanced apps – One UI 8 brings enhanced Samsung apps with a clean interface, easier navigation, and deeper integration with others.
- Smarter Photo Editing: The “Object Eraser” tool, which lets you remove unwanted things from your photos, will be faster and work more accurately.
- Other Goodies: There will be even more cool new features and improvements to discover!
What’s next?
Samsung is testing its new One UI 8 software on many phones, including the popular Galaxy A34 and A35. This is a normal part of how they make software, and the test version will change a lot before it’s officially released to everyone.
Seeing the software listed is only the beginning. Don’t expect the update to drop immediately. Samsung will later share a clear plan for when each phone will get the update, and you can check the Samsung Members app for that schedule.

Samsung One UI 8.5: The Brains Behind Galaxy S26 Design

Samsung is taking a page from Apple’s book when it comes to design. Just like iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks share a similar look and feel, Samsung is now bringing that same design harmony to its own devices and software.
Samsung’s design is officially going that way, starting with the One UI 7 and Galaxy S25 series, followed by One UI 8 and Galaxy Z7 series, and highly anticipated in the One UI 8.5 and Galaxy S26 series next year.
Galaxy x One UI – Design Philosophy:
Samsung is making its top-tier products look and feel more unified. This means the actual phone or tablet (hardware) and the way it works on screen (software, called One UI) will share the same curves and design style. Think of it like a family resemblance across all their best devices.
This unified look won’t happen all at once; it’ll improve with each new Galaxy flagship phone and One UI update.
One UI 7 is the start;
Samsung MX Division’s Yang confirmed that the company has aligned the product’s corner radius with One UI icon geometry. The design shift was also seen in the Quick and Notification Panel’s components, aligning with the S25 series aesthetic.

One UI 8
One UI 8 leads the way;
Samsung’s newest foldable phones are keeping the same general design look from One UI 7. The main goal is to make using the phone better by improving the apps and services. When it comes to how things look on screen, both the foldable phones themselves and the One UI 8 software have been carefully made to have matching curves and a pleasing style.
One UI 8.5 will follow:
The design harmony started with One UI 7 and is continuing strong. Samsung’s Yang assures us that the visual style of the software will always match the product’s design in future releases.
Even though Samsung’s recent statement didn’t specifically mention One UI 8.5 and the Galaxy S26, it’s pretty clear that these are the next products where we’ll see their new, unified design. Many reliable sources have confirmed that the Galaxy S26 phones will indeed come with One UI 8.5 software, bringing that consistent look to life.
While the Galaxy S26 series is six months out, current indications suggest Samsung will prioritize refining its existing design language. So, don’t be surprised if it looks quite a bit like the S25 Ultra.
Samsung’s One UI 8 is the Next Big Step: Bringing New Features, Fluid Animations, and a Significantly More Capable Galaxy AI, including Multimodal and Anticipation Powers.
