Google just discussed Android 16 is coming out on June 10th for Pixel phones.

Even if you don’t have a Pixel, you might get some new Android countenance this June, and Google’s apps will get cool updates too.

Today, Pixel 6 and newer phones will begin getting the major Android 16 update. It should be if possible  late tonight for users in the US, giving them a new standard Android experience.

Some Pixel users are already testing Android 16 early through a special program. The new “strongest match” that Google showed off before will gradually appear in Android 16.

Android 16 brings a fresh new look for Pixel phones, with updated Quick Settings, Notification Panel, and App Icons. People are also really liking the new blurred design, especially after seeing what Apple did with iOS 26.

The main Android 16 update (the “stable” version) that’s turn out now might not have all the new “Expressive Design” features right away. Google plans to add those new design elements gradually, and many of them are already available if you’re in the test program (called QPR Beta). Also, Google’s own apps are starting to get the new look.

On June 9th, Apple showed off iOS 26 for iPhones, which has the biggest new look in Apple’s software history. However, some people are saying the new “liquid glass” design is hard to see clearly.

Samsung’s camera app, already great for photos and videos, just got a refresh with One UI 7.0. Now, it is even better, especially with the new Pro mode for advanced users.

Samsung has cleaned up the camera app’s look. It now shows fewer options upfront, neatly organizing the less-used features into a single menu found by tapping the four dots on the bottom right.

The camera app is now less cluttered, so you can concentrate on your subject. All the important controls are still easily accessible at the bottom. One UI 7.0 brings these same upgrades to the Pro and Pro Video camera modes too.

Pro mode lets you take full control of your camera, like a professional photographer. You can manually set things like:

ISO: How sensitive the camera is to light. Higher ISO means brighter pictures in low light, but can make them grainy.

Shutter speed: How long the camera’s shutter stays open. A fast shutter “freezes” motion, while a slow shutter can create cool blur effects.

Exposure levels: How bright or dark your photo will be overall.

White balance: Makes sure white colors look truly white, so your photos have natural-looking colors, no matter the light.

On the other hand, Normal mode is much simpler. It automatically figures out all these settings for you, both before and after you press the button to take a picture.

These new changes and improvements are available in One UI 7.0 for both the regular camera and the advanced Pro and Pro Video modes.

Layout:

In the new camera app, the menu bar at the top is now smaller and takes up less space than before in One UI 6. It only shows about five main options, and what those options are might be a little different depending on which Galaxy phone you have.

Note: The One UI 6.x has an additional telephoto button on Ultra models.

Controls section:

All the camera features are now found at the bottom of your screen.

The “Pro mode” label has moved to the bottom, right next to where you tap to take a picture. It used to be above that button.

In its old spot (above the manual settings), you will now find the zoom controls.

There’s a new menu button that slides in, and it holds all the other options and features that aren’t shown on the main screen.

Even though the manual camera settings are still on the screen, they take up much less space, making the view cleaner.

The UI cleanup contributes to an improved camera view and helps users to focus on the subject to capture a high-quality image.

Front camera support:

Good news! The new Pro mode in One UI 7.0 now also works with your front camera. So, you can take pro-quality selfies and videos too.

To switch between the front and rear cameras, you can either:

• Tap the camera switch button (it’s usually next to the capture button).
• Or, simply swipe up or down on the camera screen.

New features:

Besides the redesign, the Pro and Pro Video modes now have a new Exposure monitor. This handy tool helps you get the brightness of your photos and videos just right.

• Zebra pattern: Shows stripes on parts that are either too dark or too bright.
• False color: Uses different colors to show areas based on their brightness level.

Also, just like in normal video mode, the Pro video mode now has a new zoom slider for super smooth zooming in and out.

Log:

Supported devices will see the Log feature, which expands control over color grading by recording in log format.
