Samsung pushing One UI 7 to more regions/carriers.

Check every rollout information here:
Samsung has released the One UI 7 update (based on Android 15) with a new look and smarter features for Galaxy phones. It started on April 7, 2025, and is now available to many people in places like South Korea, Europe, India, and the USA.
The new One UI 7 update makes Galaxy phones look good, have smarter AI features, and work better.
New in One UI 7:
The new One UI 7 makes your phone look modern and easy to use. It has smoother animations, redesigned icons, and you can change how your lock screen looks. The “Now Bar” on the lock screen is really useful for seeing live updates like your exercise or music. Galaxy AI is improved with tools that can remove noise from videos, help you write better, and transcribe calls in 20 languages, including Hindi and English used in India. It also has the April 2025 security update to protect your phone.
Samsung Galaxy Devices Receiving One UI 7:
Samsung is first updating its newest high-end phones, foldable devices, and best tablets to One UI 7. Cheaper and mid-range phones will get it later.
The One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra started in South Korea on April 7th, then came to the US and Europe on April 10th. Now it’s available worldwide, including in India.
- Samsung released the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S23 series (S23, S23+, S23 Ultra) in South Korea on April 22nd and in the US on April 25th. It’s now reaching Europe and India.
- S22 series One UI 7 update out in Korea, Europe/US soon (early May).
- One UI 7 for Galaxy S21 series: Korea first, Europe/US by early May.
Older devices like the Galaxy S22, S21, and other foldables are anticipated in May, with AT&T likely trailing other carriers.
To check if One UI 7 is available for your Galaxy device:
- Open the Settings app.
- Go to Software Update.
- Tap Download and Install.
- If available, follow the prompts to install.
Important Information:
If One UI 7 is not on your phone yet, do not worry. Samsung releases it in stages, so it could take some time (days or weeks) depending on your location and phone carrier. Keep an eye on your software update settings and Samsung’s official news. If you are in the US on AT&T, it might take even longer.
After the update, if apps crash or your battery drains fastly, try a restart. For ongoing issues, get help from Samsung Support or an approve repair shop.

Samsung One UI 8.5: The Brains Behind Galaxy S26 Design

Samsung is taking a page from Apple’s book when it comes to design. Just like iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks share a similar look and feel, Samsung is now bringing that same design harmony to its own devices and software.
Samsung’s design is officially going that way, starting with the One UI 7 and Galaxy S25 series, followed by One UI 8 and Galaxy Z7 series, and highly anticipated in the One UI 8.5 and Galaxy S26 series next year.
Galaxy x One UI – Design Philosophy:
Samsung is making its top-tier products look and feel more unified. This means the actual phone or tablet (hardware) and the way it works on screen (software, called One UI) will share the same curves and design style. Think of it like a family resemblance across all their best devices.
This unified look won’t happen all at once; it’ll improve with each new Galaxy flagship phone and One UI update.
One UI 7 is the start;
Samsung MX Division’s Yang confirmed that the company has aligned the product’s corner radius with One UI icon geometry. The design shift was also seen in the Quick and Notification Panel’s components, aligning with the S25 series aesthetic.

One UI 8
One UI 8 leads the way;
Samsung’s newest foldable phones are keeping the same general design look from One UI 7. The main goal is to make using the phone better by improving the apps and services. When it comes to how things look on screen, both the foldable phones themselves and the One UI 8 software have been carefully made to have matching curves and a pleasing style.
One UI 8.5 will follow:
The design harmony started with One UI 7 and is continuing strong. Samsung’s Yang assures us that the visual style of the software will always match the product’s design in future releases.
Even though Samsung’s recent statement didn’t specifically mention One UI 8.5 and the Galaxy S26, it’s pretty clear that these are the next products where we’ll see their new, unified design. Many reliable sources have confirmed that the Galaxy S26 phones will indeed come with One UI 8.5 software, bringing that consistent look to life.
While the Galaxy S26 series is six months out, current indications suggest Samsung will prioritize refining its existing design language. So, don’t be surprised if it looks quite a bit like the S25 Ultra.
Samsung’s One UI 8 is the Next Big Step: Bringing New Features, Fluid Animations, and a Significantly More Capable Galaxy AI, including Multimodal and Anticipation Powers.

Samsung One UI 8: Two Exciting New Features

The popular Now Bar and Now Brief features from One UI 7 are not just sticking around for One UI 8—they are getting even better! Samsung users should be really looking forward to these two powerful additions.
1. Now Brief:
Now Brief,” an AI feature first seen on the Galaxy S25 with One UI 7, is expanding its reach. With the One UI 8 update, it will become available on a wider range of Galaxy phones, including the Galaxy S24 lineup.
A cool new feature: “Now Brief” will now look at your contacts and use AI to create unique birthday greetings for you. You’ll then be able to easily share these AI-made messages with your friends and family. It’s like having a personal assistant helping you remember and celebrate special days.

2. Live Updates on Now Bar:
“Samsung’s Android 15 skin introduced the ‘Now Bar,’ a cool feature that shows live updates right on your lock screen. Google later added a similar function called ‘Live Updates’ in Android 16, which is available on Pixel phones.
Android 16’s Live Updates are integrating with Samsung’s Now Bar in One UI 8. Google confirmed food-delivery alerts are coming to Now Bar as live alerts. The company is also working with third-party app developers to optimize real-time alerts.
One UI 8 is designed to unleash the full power of the ‘Now Bar.’ Expect a gradual but significant improvement in live alerts from both Samsung and Google. With new collaborations, this ‘pill’ on your lock screen will become your go-to for real-time updates.
One UI 8 is bringing another smart notification upgrade: force-grouping. Just like Android 16 plans to do, this will help reduce notification clutter by letting you access a whole group of alerts with just one tap.
The improved Now Brief and Now Bar alone offer enough value to make One UI 8 a highly anticipated upgrade. While these enhancements are certainly compelling, there’s still a wealth of new features awaiting your Galaxy.

Galaxy G Fold: Samsung Has It, But Why No Release?

Guess what? Samsung has been quietly working on a three-screen foldable phone, maybe called the Galaxy G Fold, and it’s basically finished! But they’re holding off on launching it until they’re sure people actually want a phone that folds like that.
A Samsung executive told Android Authority that they’ve actually had a triple-folding phone designed for a while. The big question for them now is whether people would actually want to buy a phone that folds like that. They are basically trying to figure out if there’s enough demand for this kind of device.
While company executives refrain from revealing a potential launch timeline, earlier reports suggest the Galaxy G Fold could enter production in September 2025, with a limited launch in China and South Korea in Q4 2025.

Galaxy G Fold
Samsung is going to try out its triple-screen folding phone in a few markets first to see if people like it. This phone will likely have a hefty price tag of around $3,000, which is more than their current Galaxy Z Fold 7. To give you an idea, Huawei’s triple-fold phone, the Mate XT, costs about $2,800.
Huawei’s Mate XT folds outwards in an “S” shape, but Samsung’s new G-shaped design folds inwards. This means Samsung’s phone keeps its screens safer when folded, but it needs an extra screen on the outside to use when closed.
We got a sneak peek of the Galaxy G Fold when the S25 series launched earlier in 2025. But it was missing from the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 event. Now, leaked software animations from One UI 8 reveal its design, which includes three cameras on the left.
The foldable phone market is tricky right now, and Samsung is being careful. They are releasing their triple-screen phone in only a few places to see if there’s enough excitement for it. For it to be a real success, people need to feel that a phone that folds three times is truly worth its high price tag.
