We might have to wait until August for the Huawei Pura 80

August is now a possible time for the Huawei Pura 80 series to be released. These are expexted to be really good phones, but we do not now the exact launch date. Someone thought it might be in May, but it seems like we will have to wait until later.
Weibo tipster @FixedFocus suggested that the Huawei Pura 80 series launch may shift to June-August. The programmer was expected to debut next month or by june.
We might have to wait a little longer for the new Huawei Pura phones because the company wants to make them perfect.
The tipster further disclose that Huawei can release the Nova 14 series next month. for the moment, the Mate 80 series smartphones may also get delayed this year.
We originally heard that the Huawei Mate 80 would be released in the fourth quarter of 2025. But with the latest news suggesting delays, the launch of these new Mate phones could be postponed even further.
Huawei has not said anything official about these rumors. One possible reason for the Pura 80 delay is that they are trying to make the hardware and software the best they can be. Since these phones will to be expected have the final version of HarmonyOS 5, Huawei might be making extra changes to make sure everything works excellently.
People are also saying that Huawei is working on their own parts for the Pura 80 phones. For example, the Pura 80 Ultra might have a super big, 1-inch camera. These cool new features could be another reason why the release might be delayed
Last year, Huawei disclosed the Pura 70 series under the develop Program. Despite the fact that the company may launch the new Pura handsets at a grand launch event this year.

Chinese Money Helps Huawei Sell 19% More Phones in Q1.

In early 2025 (January to March), Huawei became the top smartphone seller in China. They did this by selling a lot of their new phones that have special AI features.
Contradiction has a new chart that shows how phone brands did in China between the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2025.
Check out this new graph from Counterpoint, it shows how smartphone sales went for different companies in China from Q4 2023 to Q1 2025.
Huawei took the top spot in Chinese smartphone sales in early 2025, selling 19% more phones. This was a 2% jump from the end of 2024 (when they had 17% of the market). They also continue to be the leader in high cost, high-end phones.
The report says that special money from the Chinese government really helped Huawei sell more phones this time. Because of this help, many Huawei phones, from the fancy Pura 70 to the cheaper Enjoy models, got extra discounts.
To boost sales of digital products, China offers a specific discount program. This means for items like smartphones, tablets, and wearables, you can get a percentage off (around 15% or up to 500 yuan) to make them more affordable.
Huawei was not the only one; Xiaomi also really helped from that special discount program. Both brands saw their sales go up remarkably, anywhere from 18% to a massive 40% compared to last year.

Pura 80 Ultra: Camera Design Gets Creative

Huawei is planning some unique changes for the camera on their new Pura 80 Ultra phone. We have already seen a leaked picture of the back of the phone, and now there is new information giving us more details about the camera itself.
A leaker named DigitalChatStation saw a picture of the new Huawei Pura 80 Ultra. He says the camera part looks very different. It’s still shaped like a triangle, but the corners of the camera bump are now bent or “crooked.
The person who leaks phone information says the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra will have a bigger triangle-shaped camera than the last model. It’s also expected to have really good camera features, including a special “periscope” zoom lens with a unique design.
A periscope lens is made up of several small lenses inside a long, thin tube. It has two mirrors or lenses set at 45-degree angles—one at the top and one at the bottom. The top one lets light in, and the bottom one helps keep the light traveling straight through the lens.
In accordance with the leaks, Huawei is going to use a brand new periscope camera in the Pura 80 Ultra, which will be much better than before. This big camera upgrade and a fresh design will make the phone look even more appealing and attractive.
The tipster says that the Pura 80 series is likely to sell more than 10 million units this year. Last year, the Pura 70 reached its sales target and reportedly had over 11 million units activated by users.
In accordance with the source, sales of the Pura 80 series are projected to exceed 10 million units in 2025. In comparison, the Pura 70 flagship met its shipment target last year, with more than 11 million consumer activation reported.
An instantly leak suggested that the Pura 80 Ultra will use a LOFIC-based main camera sensor and the largest 1/1.3-inch periscope lens to offer the best macro photography sensor.
Huawei says the Pura 80 phones will come out next month. One of their bosses even showed a quick peek at what’s likely the fancy “Ultra” version. We will probably see the full phone clearly at a big launch event soon.
