Older Samsung Foldables Test One UI 8…

Samsung is actively working to bring the big One UI 8 update to its older foldable phones, including the Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4.
Samsung is now trying out its new One UI 8 software on the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 phones from 2022. This shows that Samsung is actively working to bring its latest big update to its older devices.
A person who shares insider information (a “tipster”) has seen early test versions of the One UI 8 software for Samsung’s 2022 foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4.
These test versions have specific codes, like F936BXXUAIG3 and F721BXXUAIG3. These codes tell us that Samsung has officially started working on this big new update.
Samsung is currently testing the new One UI 8 update on its foldable phones in India (like the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4). This means Indian users will likely get the update soon after it starts rolling out for older devices.

Samsung
Samsung isn’t just updating foldables! One UI 8 is currently undergoing internal testing across a wide array of Galaxy phones, covering everything from mid-range models like the Galaxy A56 and A36, to top-tier devices such as the Galaxy S24 and S23 series, and even future releases like the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6.
Samsung launched the stable One UI 8 update with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. However, Samsung is also testing new features on the Galaxy S25 series with a Beta update.

Samsung One UI 8.5: The Brains Behind Galaxy S26 Design

Samsung is taking a page from Apple’s book when it comes to design. Just like iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks share a similar look and feel, Samsung is now bringing that same design harmony to its own devices and software.
Samsung’s design is officially going that way, starting with the One UI 7 and Galaxy S25 series, followed by One UI 8 and Galaxy Z7 series, and highly anticipated in the One UI 8.5 and Galaxy S26 series next year.
Galaxy x One UI – Design Philosophy:
Samsung is making its top-tier products look and feel more unified. This means the actual phone or tablet (hardware) and the way it works on screen (software, called One UI) will share the same curves and design style. Think of it like a family resemblance across all their best devices.
This unified look won’t happen all at once; it’ll improve with each new Galaxy flagship phone and One UI update.
One UI 7 is the start;
Samsung MX Division’s Yang confirmed that the company has aligned the product’s corner radius with One UI icon geometry. The design shift was also seen in the Quick and Notification Panel’s components, aligning with the S25 series aesthetic.

One UI 8
One UI 8 leads the way;
Samsung’s newest foldable phones are keeping the same general design look from One UI 7. The main goal is to make using the phone better by improving the apps and services. When it comes to how things look on screen, both the foldable phones themselves and the One UI 8 software have been carefully made to have matching curves and a pleasing style.
One UI 8.5 will follow:
The design harmony started with One UI 7 and is continuing strong. Samsung’s Yang assures us that the visual style of the software will always match the product’s design in future releases.
Even though Samsung’s recent statement didn’t specifically mention One UI 8.5 and the Galaxy S26, it’s pretty clear that these are the next products where we’ll see their new, unified design. Many reliable sources have confirmed that the Galaxy S26 phones will indeed come with One UI 8.5 software, bringing that consistent look to life.
While the Galaxy S26 series is six months out, current indications suggest Samsung will prioritize refining its existing design language. So, don’t be surprised if it looks quite a bit like the S25 Ultra.
Samsung’s One UI 8 is the Next Big Step: Bringing New Features, Fluid Animations, and a Significantly More Capable Galaxy AI, including Multimodal and Anticipation Powers.
