Samsung will announce One UI 5.0 for Galaxy devices at SDC 2022 tomorrow
The South Korean tech giant Samsung released its first One UI 5.0 beta update for the Galaxy S22 series in August 2022, and later that month, the Galaxy S21 series received the same suite. Now, the official One UI 5.0, which is based on Android 13, is on its way for the Galaxy S22 series, and Samsung will make the official announcement tomorrow at SDC 2022 (October 12, 2022).
So far, the Galaxy S22 series has received the four beta programs of the One UI 5.0 while the Galaxy S21 series has two beta updates. Now the Galaxy S22 series will be the first device that will get the official version at SDC 2022, in most probability the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be the first device that receives the Android 13 stable version.
A well-known Twitter tipster recently shared the unknown build BVJ4 (last four digits) for the Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphone, claiming that it will be a stable version of the One UI 5.0. Now, it appears that Galaxy S22 series users are not far away from receiving a slew of new features.

Samsung officially announces that it will talk about One UI 5.0 during the Samsung Developer Conference 2022. At this event, the company will share information about the One UI 5.0 UI and UX design, features, eligible devices and more. On the other hand, the company will also share the system’s official roadmap, which will show when and which devices will receive this update.
It is also expected that the first One UI 5.0 stable update for the Galaxy S22 series will be released shortly after the SDC 2022. Well, it appears that users will receive this major update, which will be available to all users who have not participated in the beta program.
One UI 5.0 features:
One UI 5.0 features an updated UI and is based on Android 13. It has a larger Color Palette feature, smoother animations and transitions, and simpler customization options for the lock screen. Stacked Widgets, which are simpler to use, have taken the place of Smart Widgets on Samsung devices. Each contact’s call background can be customized.
Additionally, Samsung has enhanced the ability to customize notifications and permissions, sound and vibration settings, and the appearance of quick setting toggles. The Connected Devices section of the Settings app now lists all the features pertaining to connected accessories. A UWB toggle and a new appearance for the pop-up menu for permissions are also present.

Until now, Samsung mainly provided DIY repair options for its regular smartphones, tablets, and laptops. However, when it came to the more intricate foldable models like the Galaxy Fold and Flip, the company limited users to professional repair services due to the complexity of these devices.
Now, in a noteworthy move, Samsung is expanding its DIY repair support to include its foldable models, starting with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. This means users will soon have the option to tackle repairs at home, marking a shift in Samsung’s approach to empower users in maintaining and fixing their foldable devices.
This development follows Google’s recent introduction of DIY repair options for its Pixel Fold, though it’s worth noting that repair parts for the Pixel Fold can be relatively expensive, such as the inner screen alone costing $900. Huawei’s big boss just hinted at exciting new things for their software in 2024! Expect fresh products built on their latest HarmonyOS NEXT system.
During the Fan Club (Pollen) Annual Conference 2023, Yu Chengdong announced that Huawei plans to reveal several advanced products next year. He also predicted the launch of HarmonyOS NEXT products and improved native application experiences in 2024.
The CEO didn’t share when exactly the new software and native applications would be released, but we can anticipate the official reveal to happen in early 2024.
Huawei needs to make HarmonyOS fully independent and essential without relying on Android libraries soon. Hopefully, the company will speed up its efforts in the coming days.
