Gmail gets a new feature and a graphical update to its widgets

According to the most recent information, Google has begun releasing a new update to its Gmail application, which includes some new changes. Political emails at the heart of a new feature:
Google intends to launch a pilot program with the aim of exempting political emails from the spam folder; these emails previously would have been marked as spam by default, but now they will land in the main box giving the user the right to decide. All this was made possible after the approval of the Federal Electoral Commission of the United States.
The pilot program will in fact introduce, at the first opening of a political email, a prominent button that asks the user if he wants to continue receiving messages from that sender. If the user declines, future emails will be automatically marked as spam, and the unsubscribe button has been made more visible.
The new feature will initially be released in testing only in the United States, with a small number of election campaigns by both sides, Google will monitor and verify if these changes improve the user experience.

The latest released version of Gmail (2022.08.21.x) introduced an aesthetic change in the related widget, with the latest update in fact the filling spaces inside the individual messages are removed.
