The iPhone 14 Pro Max breakdown proves what's new in mobile with Dynamic Island

The iPhone 14 Pro Max did not even hit stores, but it has already gone through a dismantling process. The interior of the phone with the Apple A16 Bionic processor and a hole in the screen instead of the notch was revealed this week by the YouTube channel PBKreviews. Other notable features include a triple 48-megapixel camera and a battery with a capacity of over 4,000 mAh.

The analysis used the American version of the cell phone, which does not have an entry for carrier chips. The dismantling process started by removing the two screws at the bottom. Then, just remove the screen to access the inside of the cell phone.

Right away, there is an L-shaped battery. The piece has a capacity of 4,323 mAh and is attached to the body of the phone with glue. The Apple A16 Bionic processor and the motherboard are covered by layers of graphite to transfer and dissipate heat, helping to reduce the phone’s temperature.

The iPhone 14 Pro removes the notch from the screen:

The big change is aimed at the screen, which left the notch adopted in 2017, on the iPhone X, aside. Now, the phone has a hole to house the front camera, just like other Android smartphones available on the market. Also, the proximity sensor has been moved to the back of the dash.

The new cutout of the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max follows the pill format. The solution is interesting thanks to Dynamic Island, an integration between hardware and software to make short information available around the notch. Thus, it is possible to check connections, music playing, and the like in the new area.

After the entire dismantling process, the phone received a score of 6.5 out of 10 on the repairability index. The review highlights the ease of finding parts and changing the screen and battery. However, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is not that easy to reassemble – and not even disassemble.

Mobile phones get a 48MP camera and an always-on display:

Apple presented the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max on the 7th. In common, the two phones said goodbye to the controversial notch and gained an always-on display. The duo even received a triple 48MP camera.

This entire arrangement is led by the Apple A16 Bionic processor. The cell phone also has satellite connectivity to send emergency messages and detect car accidents. The smartphone also has storage of up to 1 TB.

The iPhone 14 Pro will be available in Brazil with suggested retail prices ranging from R$9,499 to R$14,499. The model with a larger screen will cost between R$10,499 and R$15,499. The release date, on the other hand, remains unknown.

A dismantling report from Japan, according to Juheng.com, shows that the total price of parts for Apple’s iPhone 14 series flagship models is about 20% higher than that of the iPhone 13.

According to Fomalhaut, the total cost of parts for the iPhone 14 Pro Max is approximately $501 (approximately 41,495 INR), which is more than $60 (approximately 4970 INR) higher than the previous generation iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Since the launch of the iPhone “Max” flagship model in 2018, the cost price has fallen between US$400 (about 33,130 INR) and US$450 (about 37, 271INR). This time it has directly raised more than US$60, and the cost of parts and Parts totals both saw their biggest gains since 2018.

In terms of model pricing, the iPhone 14 Pro Max with the smallest capacity is priced at the same US market price as the same model in 2018 and remains at $1,099 (about 91,024INR). The rise in component prices was not directly passed on and became the main reason for squeezing profits.

According to the report, the cost increase of the iPhone 14 Pro series is primarily due to the A16 Bionic chip. The chip costs $110 (approximately 9,110INR), which is more than 2.4 times the price of the A15 chip found in last year’s iPhone 13 Pro Max. The A16 Bionic employs the most advanced 4nm process, which is currently only available from TSMC and Samsung Electronics.

TelegramWe learned that Fomalhaut said that this highlights Apple’s product strategy that “it cannot be separated by new features, but has to use high-performance configuration to make a distinction”.

In terms of other parts, the CMOS used in the iPhone 14 comes from Sony. Among the three cameras on the rear of the iPhone 14 Pro, the size of the CMOS used in the main camera is 30% larger than before, and the price is also about 50% higher at $15 (about 1242INR). Due to the adoption of the new CMOS, the main camera of the iPhone 14 Pro series has increased to 48 million pixels.

The OLED panel of the dismantled model adopts Samsung electronic products; the baseband chip is from Qualcomm, and the power management chip (PMIC) is Apple’s own product. In 2018, Apple acquired the power management chip business of British chip maker Dialog for $600 million.

Furthermore, the report stated that the United States accounted for 32.4% of the total parts of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, South Korea accounted for 24.8%, Japan accounted for 10.9%, Taiwan accounted for 7.2%, mainland China accounted for 3.8%, and others (unknown) accounted for 20.9%.

Last year, the United States accounted for 22.6% of the total parts of the iPhone 13 Pro Max, South Korea accounted for 30.4%, Japan accounted for 14.5%, Taiwan accounted for 8.4%, mainland China accounted for 4.5%, and others (unknown) accounted for 19.6%.

iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max users facing restart problems while charging

DXOMARK announced the proactive test score of Apple's iPhone 14 Pro: the total score is 145, ranking first in the list

Apple recently released four new devices into the market: the iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max. But now, users of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are reporting that the device restarts automatically when they plug it into the charger.

Some Apple iPhone 14 Pro users have reported that the iOS 16 battery drains quickly, but this may not be the most serious issue. Some customers are now reporting that when charging via MagSafe or Lightning, their iPhone devices restart intermittently.

Some users complained on Reddit that the iPhone 14 Pro was randomly restarting while charging. This problem has been present for 8 days, and it includes charging with a MagSafe or Lightning cable.

Another user stated that the iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 16.0.1 restarts every 10-20 minutes while charging. We learned that some other people have reported that the problem persists even on iOS 16.0.2 or iOS 16.1 Beta.

According to one user, “This only happens when the battery is charged at 90-95% (especially 93%) and the phone is idle. So far, the only thing that can be done (as of now two late without reboot) is to disable background app refresh.”

Those experiencing this issue should return their iPhone within 14 days and purchase another or request a replacement at your local Apple Store.

The upgradability of iOS 16 is higher than the iOS 15

iOS 16

According to the most recent Mixpanel data, iPhone users are adopting iOS 16 faster than they did iOS 15 last year. Statistics show that 23.26% of iPhones have iOS 16 installed nine days after its release.

10 days after the official release of iOS 15, the install rate was only 19.3%, when iPhone users seemed more reluctant to upgrade due to some early bugs. The official version of iOS 16 introduces more visual changes and is more attractive.

Take a Look here:

Currently, Apple allows iPhone users to continue using iOS 15.7 through security updates, rather than a mandatory upgrade to iOS 16. Apple did the same branching route when it released iOS 15 last year, allowing people to continue using iOS 14 for about four months after the update was released. The upcoming iOS 16.1 official update will add some notable features, such as real-time activity on the lock screen and changes to the battery percentage in the status bar.

Despite the growing popularity of iOS 16, 66.96% of iPhones are still running iOS 15, while 9.77% are running older versions of iOS. Mixpanel’s data is derived from visits to websites and apps that use Mixpanel’s analytics SDK.
