Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro rugged phone with removable battery released
Samsung has launched the new Galaxy XCover 6 Pro three-proof phone overseas. This phone is Samsung’s first durable smartphone that supports 5G and also supports Wi-Fi 6E connection.
The Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s 6nm-based Snapdragon 778G chip, which is also used in phones such as the Samsung Galaxy A53 and the OnePlus Nord N20. The phone offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card.
As a three-proof mobile phone, the Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro has an IP68 dust and water resistance rating and has also passed the MIL-STD-810H military standard certification.
The Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro also features a 6.6-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which officials say can be used even in the rain or while wearing gloves. Additionally, its screen is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus+.
What makes this phone stand out is its removable battery design, meaning its 4050mAh battery can be swapped out at any time when it runs out of power, as was the case with phones from many years ago. The machine also supports the POGO charging function, which can charge multiple accessories at the same time.
For those who work remotely, the Galaxy XCover6 Pro features Samsung DeX, allowing an external monitor, keyboard and mouse to create a portable workspace.
The phone comes pre-installed with Android 12 out of the box, and Samsung promises up to five years of security updates and four One UI and operating system upgrades. The machine also has two programmable buttons, including the XCover and the top button, to perform specific functions, such as launching an application.
The Samsung Galaxy XCover6 Pro is priced at €600 (approximately 4,200 yuan) in Germany and will be available in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East starting this month, and in more regions later this year. Its price in India is estimated to be around 50 thousand.
