Apple iOS 15 supports manually turning off the night scene mode of the iPhone 11/12/Pro camera

Published

on

Foreign media 9to5 Mac reported that in 2019, Apple introduced the night scene mode on the iPhone 11 series of mobile phones, and carried out a major photography upgrade to iOS. Shooting in extremely low light, getting rid of the limitations of the small camera sensor, instantly becomes shareable. However, after being applied to the night scene mode camera, the photo effect of some scenes is not so good.

The foreign media editor mentioned this challenge in the initial evaluation of the iPhone 11 camera.

“Night scene mode is not magical. You can’t just point the camera at the abyss and take pictures of things you can’t see. Night scene mode requires a certain amount of light to work. But you can flood the sensor with light; point the camera at a street light, But the overall shooting effect will be very poor.

Of course, the night scene mode is not always the correct mode. The iPhone is good at taking dark photos with light. The night scene mode shooting in the last example successfully revealed more scenes, but it is a challenge to maintain a light exposure of 1 to 10 seconds when shooting with the iPhone handheld. ”

The photos for reference are as follows.

The first photo is a bit cool. It is a typical intense nightlife in the city center shot by the iPhone. The second photo is much better for later reference to the scene, but it is a terrible photo.

Apple previously allowed users to disable the night scene mode when shooting in low light, but this process takes a very short time. If the iPhone detects that night scene mode should be used, the camera will automatically be enabled.

Only during that period of time can you turn off the night scene mode of the lens or shooting period. Start the iOS camera after a break. When insufficient light is detected, the night scene mode will default to on again.

An option has been added to Apple iOS 15 that effectively allows you to disable the night scene mode of the iPhone camera. Here is how to set it up:

  • Enter the settings app
  • Click on the camera section
  • Click Save Settings
  • Turn on the switch button of “Night Scenery Mode”

Team DNS is informed that if you disable the night scene mode when shooting, turn on this setting to keep your camera off the night scene mode. When you need it, you can still use the night scene mode by manually launching it in the camera app, but now you can make the decision by yourself instead of the iPhone automatically.

The night scene mode is very good, and letting it turn on automatically may be the correct default way. However, before you want to use the night scene mode, there is a new option to choose not to use the night scene mode, which can save time when taking low-light photos. In the case of not using the night scene mode, these photos may behave more naturally.

Apple’s iOS 15 system is currently in Beta testing, and the official version is expected to be released in September.

The upgradability of iOS 16 is higher than the iOS 15

According to the most recent Mixpanel data, iPhone users are adopting iOS 16 faster than they did iOS 15 last year. Statistics show that 23.26% of iPhones have iOS 16 installed nine days after its release.

10 days after the official release of iOS 15, the install rate was only 19.3%, when iPhone users seemed more reluctant to upgrade due to some early bugs. The official version of iOS 16 introduces more visual changes and is more attractive.

Take a Look here:

Currently, Apple allows iPhone users to continue using iOS 15.7 through security updates, rather than a mandatory upgrade to iOS 16. Apple did the same branching route when it released iOS 15 last year, allowing people to continue using iOS 14 for about four months after the update was released. The upcoming iOS 16.1 official update will add some notable features, such as real-time activity on the lock screen and changes to the battery percentage in the status bar.

Despite the growing popularity of iOS 16, 66.96% of iPhones are still running iOS 15, while 9.77% are running older versions of iOS. Mixpanel’s data is derived from visits to websites and apps that use Mixpanel’s analytics SDK.

iOS 15.4.1

Apple today pushed the iOS / iPadOS 15.4.1 update (build number: 19E258) to iPhone and iPad users, which fixes the problem that the previous iOS 15.4 battery drained too quickly.

According to media reports, the power consumption of the official version of iOS 15.4 has caused dissatisfaction among many users. Many iPhone owners have said that before upgrading to the official version of iOS 15.4, Apple 13promax can be fully charged every day. However, after upgrading to the official version of iOS 15.4, the battery life is only about half a day. It must be charged twice a day, and the fever is also very serious.

iOS 15.4.1 includes bug fixes and security updates for iPhone and is recommended for all users. When you see this, you can update your iPhone by going to Settings, General, and then Software Update.

iOS 15.4.1

From the official update instructions, this update mainly contains the following three improvements for the iPhone:

  • After updating to iOS 15.4, the battery may drain faster than expected
  • Braille devices may not respond when navigating text or displaying reminders
  • Hearing aids for iPhone may lose connectivity in some third-party apps

Additionally, iOS and iPadOS 15.4.1 fixes an issue with AppleAVD that could allow apps with kernel privileges to execute arbitrary code. Apple said that this vulnerability could be widely exploited, so it is expected that all users will update their new systems as soon as possible.

It is worth mentioning that this update comes almost two weeks after the release of the new iPhone SE and iOS 15.4, which could be the last major feature update before iOS 16. iOS 15.4 enables users to use Face ID while wearing a mask, introduces a gender-neutral US English voice for Siri, adds tons of new emojis, and more.

Apple today released iPadOS 15.4.1, watchOS 8.5.1, and tvOS 15.4.1 along with other bug fixes and security updates, but they also added support for the Apple Business Essentials program. Apple calls Business Essentials “a full subscription that seamlessly combines device management, 24/7 support, and cloud storage.”

The DNS is informed that, in addition, Apple iOS 14.5 and newer systems will also support privacy labels, App tracking transparency, pasteboard usage transparency, third-party apps, and access permissions, data and privacy information, location data, data and privacy pages, analysis data Management methods such as advertising, etc., will help you further improve security.
