HarmonyOS 6.0 Update Schedule for Huawei Phones

Huawei has shared news about its upcoming HarmonyOS updates. They have announced when devices will get the HarmonyOS 5.1 upgrade. At the same time, they also gave a hint about the even newer HarmonyOS 6.0, suggesting when users can expect that major update.
At the recent launch of the Pura 80 series phones, Huawei announced its HarmonyOS 5.1 update plan. Richard Yu, who leads
consumer business, stated that their best phones will start receiving this new software next month.
He further shared details about the HarmonyOS 6.0 rollout timeline. As per the executive, the next major upgrade will hit the user ground in Q4 2025.
Richard Yu suggested:
Huawei anticipates that its devices will receive the new HarmonyOS 6.0 operating system sometime between October and November. Before that, the company aims to finalize the HarmonyOS 5.1 rollout for all applicable devices, and may even bring it to classic flagship models such as the Mate 40 Pro.

HarmonyOS 6.0 Rollout
After showcasing the Pura 80, Huawei is now getting ready for HDC 2025, scheduled for June 20-22. There’s strong anticipation that HarmonyOS 6.0 will be unveiled at this event, offering a sneak peek at its features
If it happens, the phone maker may follow last year’s strategy and initiate the HarmonyOS 6.0 closed or public beta rollout in October/November this year.
The Pura 80 series, Mate 70/60, Pura 70, Mate X6, and Mate X5 are likely to be among the first devices to receive the update. Huawei might then officially launch the next major upgrade alongside its new Mate 80 and Mate X7 flagship phones.
From there, the update will continue to spread over the next month, reaching mid-range phones like the Nova series and older models. The rollout should be finished by mid-2026.
This HarmonyOS 6.0 rollout plan seems likely, but Huawei has not officially confirmed all the details yet. They have only hinted that their devices might start getting the 6.0 software update around October or November.
