Saudi Arabia and Huawei jointly promote the Saudi national artificial intelligence development plan

According to the media houses reports, the Saudi Arabian Bureau of Data and Artificial Intelligence established a partnership with Huawei on the 22nd to jointly promote Saudi Arabia’s national artificial intelligence capability development plan and help Saudi Arabia achieve digital transformation.

The Global Artificial Intelligence Summit was hosted by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Bureau and was held on the 21st and 22nd by video conference. It attracted more than 200 industry experts and decision-makers to participate in exploring the role of artificial intelligence in the future.

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Agency (SDAIA) signed a memorandum of understanding on the National Artificial Intelligence Capability Development Plan with Huawei Online at the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit on the same day. The statement stated that the National Artificial Intelligence Capability Development Plan aims to support the government, enterprises, and research of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Institutions are looking for suitable technology partners in the field of artificial intelligence, enhancing their own talent pool, and finally finding new growth strategies through artificial intelligence applications.

Majid Altuwaijri, CEO of SDAIA National Center for Artificial Intelligence (NCAI), stated that SDAIA hopes to use its vision to establish Saudi Arabia as a global leader in the alliance of data-driven economies.

Altuwaijri said: “We believe that public-private cooperation will help speed up this process. We are very happy to cooperate with Huawei to carry out our latest national artificial intelligence capability development project.” He said that he can only continue to acquire the most cutting-edge technologies and learn. International successful experience in adopting best practices.

Yang Yougui, President of Huawei’s Middle East Region, said that Huawei has adopted a long-term research and development strategy in the field of artificial intelligence. Through cooperation with Saudi Arabia, Huawei looks forward to creating new value in these technical fields and helping Saudi Arabia achieve its digital transformation goals.

At present, the development of artificial intelligence in Saudi Arabia is still at an early stage. The Saudi Bureau of Data and Artificial Intelligence previously estimated that the economic value of the country’s data and artificial intelligence was approximately US$4 billion to US$5 billion.
